A summary of this year’s highlights and statistics.
In this season of joy and gratitude, Chica Project has much to celebrate and reflect on from the past year. 2025 was a year of empowerment, sisterhood, and resiliency. From our in-school programming to community engagement events, we kept ourselves engaged, creating safe spaces for young Women of Color to thrive.
One of our main goals this year was to be even more intentional about creating culturally affirming programming. Every chica brings something unique to the table, and it’s our job to make sure they all feel seen and supported. This approach allows us to nurture their confidence, wellness, and joy. Our Chicas in Bloom program was designed with this purpose in mind. Working with local schools and community centers, Chica Project is able to guide these young Women of Color on a journey of self-discovery and self-love. Likewise, events such as our Culture Fest in June gave us the opportunity to meet with the greater community and share in the beauty of diversity.
Another new initiative this year was our Summer Retreat. Designed as a three-day experience, the retreat blended leadership workshops, STEM sessions, outdoor activities, and wellness practices. This getaway gave us a chance to step out of our daily routines and spend intentional time in sisterhood. We also emphasized wellness by hosting our second annual Empower Her 5k. This fundraising event brought together the chica community for a day of exercise, joy, and empowerment.

Alongside all of our special events, the core of our organization will always be serving chicas. From our long-standing programming like the Peer Leader and Mentor Programs to our newer additions like the Chicas Connect alumni network, Chica Project’s goal is to serve young Women of Color where they are. Through our mission and vision, we hope to be a continuous source of support as chicas step into the each chapter of their lives.
