We won the gold!

For the past 10 years, chica project has cemented its name in honesty, transparency, accountability, and empowerment. Since one of our core values is authenticity, we are deeply proud of earning the Gold Star Seal of Transparency from GuideStar by Candid! GuideStar is the world’s largest information source on non-profit organizations, providing access to the most comprehensive, up-to-date, and accurate non-profit information available. We hold this achievement in high regard because we are among the top 5% of non-profits that have achieved such a prestigious and leading symbol of transparency and accountability.

Our commitment to transparency is why we’ve disclosed salaries for our staff members, ensured knowledge on donations made, key strategies and indicators of progress, as well as our impact. This is an important move to legitimize our organization, our programs and results, budgets, and financial statements.

Now, visitors to our page on GuideStar can tell we’re currently serving over 300 participants and engaging over 50 volunteers so far this program year. And, of course, you can see our website, current programs, and strategies to improve performance through seeking feedback, goals, and financials on Guidestar.

By tackling the opportunity divide that will improve every young Woman of Color’s future to thrive personally and professionally, chica project has considered empowerment as morally imperative since 2012. We are working hard to ensure success in empowerment with skills, confidence, and network for our chicas!

chica project values the generosity of our awesome donors and is working hard to make our dream of a world with doors wide open for young Women of Color come alive. Stay in tune with us, as we continuously commit to transparency, surrounding our values of power and potential, cariño and connection, radical authenticity and grace and intention.
