We have come a long way, Chicas!
For our tenth birthday, we have given ourselves permission to be free!
Free-spirits. Let’s start by breaking down this term. “Spirit” relates to a person’s soul, and “free”, of course, means freedom from anything that might constrain or limit that soul. When you hear that term, maybe a young rebellious child comes to mind, or a quirky but wise elder. Someone with “chispa” or a healthy joie de vivre. We are—and want to be— all that.
Our hand-rendered logo calls out “chica” with curvy modern flair. We see a head in the dot of the letter i, perhaps a chica herself.
In its basic form, our logo is contained within a circle. No beginning, no end, a symbol of infinite potential. Life trajectories aren’t linear, so one can always start on a new path at any point along the circle—each day a portal of possibility.
But in our 10th year, chica project no longer needs to always be bound by the safety of that circle. We can color outside the lines and set ourselves free.
