The Empowerment Institute develops the next generation of young leaders and prepares them to be authors of their own story. We recognize and embrace the multiple facets of our cultures, along with the challenges in the lives of young women. Through character education, intellectual engagement, and professional development we strive to foster resiliency, leadership, and community in the lives of our young women.
What We Do
The Empowerment Institute (EI) develops the next generation of young women, comprised of 10th through 12th graders, by preparing them to be resilient thinkers, dreamers, and leaders. We accomplish this through hands-on workshops that promote personal growth, leadership advancement, and identity exploration with a cohort of high-school youth in a group mentoring setting. Through ongoing mentoring, monthly conferences catered to the development of personal growth, leadership practices, and 21st-century professional skills, EI develops passionate and driven leaders. As a Latina and Women of Color oriented initiative, the EI is open to all young women, regardless of race or ethnicity.
